BARNSLEY SET TO RELEASE MANAGER

Barnsleyare set to release manager David Stendel according to reports from England. It is understood that the Oakwell club have made up their mind to release the coach after the next game against Swansea.

Barnsleyhave endured a wretched run of form in the past two months and are without a win in their last 11 matches. Last week 5-1 defeat to Preston appears to be the last straw for the management as Barnsley showed lack of fight in the match.

The result saw them drop into the relegation spots and leaves them two points adrift of safety in the Championship. Stendel is a fan favorite having joined the club last season and guided them back to the Championship immediately.

However the recent struggle appears to have taken the toll on both coach and club with a mutual agreement increasing likely. It is however thought that Stendel will manage the next game at home to Swansea before departing.

Meanwhile, in the EPL there is increasing pressure on a number of coaches after a poor run of form. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been in the line of fire with his team failing to win their last three matches.

Pochettino’s side suffered a humiliating 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich where his tactics were called into question. The 3-0 defeat away to Brighton showed that this had turned to a full-blown crisis with a number of players failing to perform to standard.

Marco Silva is another manager that is under intense pressure. Last week’s defeat to Burnley means that Everton are closer to relegation than fighting for a top-six place. Silva is no stranger to pressure at Goodison Park.

His first season at the club was similar before he turned things around towards the end of the season. But as things stand, he may not last to the end of the season.
