Barnsley manager Jose Morais is disappointed with the performance of the team in the first half against Middlesbrough. The coach felt the team could have pressed to produce something “extraordinary” against their rivals at the Riverside stadium.
Daniel Ayala scored an early goal to hand Boro an advantage. Adama Traore quickly doubled the advantage to weaken the resolve of Barnsley. Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom wants clarification when it comes to the proposed takeover of the club. Talks have been dragging on for some time, and the boss wants to know when the deal will be done.
He said that this would allow him to plan for the January transfer window. He said that at the moment the club is at a standstill and that there is nothing happening. Paul Heckingbottom said that he is asked many questions by fans on what they can expect for the club.

Following the 5-0 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town at the beginning of March, Barnsley received a barrage of criticism from supporters but appeared to turn a corner when they defeated Nottingham Forest 1-0 the following week. The progress, however, has been halted as the Tykes fell to a 3-0 defeat by promotion chasing Leicester City this week, with Barnsley now left with just twelve games to save their season.
Barnsley have just 29 points thus far this campaign and are only two points above the bottom placed Charlton, who have 27. Charlton have four games in hand on Barnsley however and it is looking increasingly likely that once those games are played, it will be the Tykes who are left propping up the Championship table.
