English League One side Barnsley have confirmed the signing of attacking talent Nicky Cadden. His transfer was confirmed by the Tykes on Monday. He has put pen to paper on a two-year deal as the new Barnsley paper until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Barnsley were one of the three teams relegated from the English Championship last season alongside Peterborough United and Derby County.

New Barnsley signing Cadden started his professional football career with the Airdrieonians in his native Scotland and he went on to play for some teams north of the border before signing for Forest Green Rovers two years ago. He played an important role as they won League Two title last season thus securing promotion to League One.Cadden had an attacking return of ten goals and 22 assists in 87 appearances while he was at Forest Green Rovers and Barnsley would be hoping that the wing-back can reprise the form at Oakwell.

On the signing of Cadden, Khaled El-Ahmad said they are delighted that the player has opted for Barnsley as the next step in his career. El-Ahmad is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Barnsley. He extended warm regards to Cadden on behalf of everyone at the club while wishing him the best of luck.
