Barnsley beat QPR

Barnsley managed to beat QPR by 3-2 thanks to a last minute goal by Josh Scowen. This put an end to QPR winning streak in the Championship and provide at the same time some much-needed confidence to Barnsley.


The home side started the game well and took an early lead in the 4th minute. The goal came on a corner when Alfie Mawson headed the ball across goal and Watkins made a wonderful connection with the ball to help his side opened the score. Barnsleywere boosted by the goal and take complete control of the game and Mawson missed a wonderful opportunity to double the lead on a free-kick.

However, QPR came back into the match and managed to create some opportunities of their own, but they will fail to beat Barnsley keeper. The home team will hold on and will reach half-time with the score 1-0.

After the break, Barnsley will gift QPR a penalty when Robert will commit a foul on Polter. Cheryl will take full advantage of the penalty and put both side levels. Barnsley will again take control of the game and create occasions after occasion and will be at each time denied by the goalkeeper.

They will again give QPR another penalty in the 74th minute and this time, Polter will seize the opportunity to give his side the lead.

However, Barnsley was not discouraged by the goal and manages to equalize with a Hourihane free-kick. It was well-deserved for Barnsley who was the better side so far in the game. The home side will manage to snatch a victory in the dying second of the match when Scowen will score from close range.
