Huddersfield were sh!t back then though wern’t they? Sure they got relegated either at the end of that season, or the following season.. and they have been in League One ever since. I think this proved that we are the number 1 footballing ‘town’ in Yorkshire 😉 even though it’s not in our name, we are all TARN4LIFE 😀 can’t believe my eyes you reds !!!!!!! we love you barnsley we do. we owned town. I was there, you reeeedddddssssss !!! I bought my mate, a HT fan, a can of 7up after this game. A beautiful game i was there too but it was 27th november, i remember cos it was my brothers birthday 🙂 i was there, i wa like and at the start of the match i stood on a barsnley hat and all town fans chanted wayyy Remember it well. Fookin’ dream team! SUPER, SUPER JOHN. SUPER, SUPER JOHN. SUPER, SUPER JOHN. SUPER JOHNNY HENDRY!!! When you see games like this you wonder whether your awake or dreaming! If Barnsley put their all into the Championship they’d get into the prem. By the way, Vote for UKIP! I miss Alan Brazil, “BANG! 7-0” i was there, best barnsley match i’ve ever seen. if we could have kept redfearn and ward then added hignett we would have gone straight back up fact Barnsley are awsome we have arguements in class bout em coz we gt a Sheffield u fan ee a nob Erm, now we’re ninth. am 15 been going since the season we went up bt a started going in mont january a remember this 1 of the most expecially barnards goal gis me all shivers lol hoppefully these days will comeback the propper ffootball i go still now lol Men against boys. Just like watching Brazil! yeah, i rememeber that, We beat Sunderland 3-2 at SOL. ward got sent off missed a pen, and scored within 10 mins hahaha If they had appointed Dave Bassett instead of Hendrie Barnsley might have bounced back up at the first attempt, remember we made the play-off final the year after. Hendrie was a great player but it was a heart over head appointment at the time and it was the wrong one. think we was unlucky coulda nicked it at the end You’ve got the date wrong, it was on the night of Friday 27th November 1998. I remember it as I was there. In retrospect, the years between 1996 and 2000 were a golden era for Barnsley FC, and one which might not be recreated again, or at least not for a very long time. In April 1999 they sacked John Hendrie for finishing 13th and for getting to the quarter final of the FA Cup. How stupid that decision looks now, and what would they give to get back there today?
