CASILLAS CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE

Iker Casillas is probably playing some of his worst Football these days, but, there are a few people who are still backing him and one of them is the head coach of the Spain national team, Vicente Del Bosque.
As per Del Bosque, Casillas is one of his first choices even after his recent poor form and he would continue to start for Spain.

Casillas has been booed a couple of times by the fans of Real Madrid lately for committing regular mistakes sanding between the sticks.

The anger of the Real fans reached the maximum level the other evening when Casillas’ poor efforts allowed Schalke 04 to come back in the Champions League pre quarter final return leg.

Real escaped the knockout scare somehow there. Although they lost that particular game, but, their 2-0 win in the first leg helped them to remain ahead on aggregate which ensured their advancement in the tournament.
Casillas himself has been very honest about his form and has not been reluctant at all in stating that he has not been as good as Real expects him to be.

But, Del Bosque reckons that Casillas still has some gas in the tank and he would get it right if provided a bit of backing, and said as much to Marathonbet.

Speaking yesterday, the La Roja boss said, “Iker sets high standards for himself and he is gutted that he has not been able to match up those standards off late, but, I don’t think that his form has been poor enough for him to be dropped. A good day on the pitch would help him get going again.”

As Marathonbet pointed out, Del Bosque is not short of quality goalkeepers though. He has plenty in his ranks. David De Gea, who is probably one of the best in the world, is there and there are a few others in the wings too. But, he seems to be willing to keep going with Casillas for a bit more time.
